SimonEnglish emerged on to the London Art Scene in 1994 with his first ever SoloShow of large Paintings in the Saatchi Gallery as part of “Young British Art3”.
Inthe past ten years he has become known for large and small-scaled works onpaper often described as “painted drawings”.
In2005, he published his first monograph “Simon English and the Army PinkSnowman” (Blackdog Publishing) with extensive essays by Bill Arning and StellaSantacatterina.
Hismost recent Shows have included “Aspects of Collecting” at the Essl Museum,Austria with works selected by the Louisiana Museum, Denmark which transferredto Arken Museum of Modern Art, Denmark and solo Shows at Galerie Volker Diehl,Berlin and Robert Goff, New York.
Hisworks are in many important museum and private collections including the LouisianaMuseum, Denmark, The Essl Museum, Austria, The Arts Council of Great Britain,The British Museum, Agnes B Collection, Sammlung Falkenberg and the BurgerCollection.
